Description
Antique Prize Medal Awarded Ansonia Clock Co. Parisian Parlor Clock. 8 day clock with pendulum and alarm cased in a walnut cabinet with ornate carved details and a lady head finial design. The cabinet has a glass door with the lower half decorated with etched image of a hanging plant, gate and foliage. The door opens revealing the mechanics. Manufactured in the 1880's. The sticker on the back has peeled off, however the clock comes with a piece of paper that replicates the sticker and it reads "Prize Medal Awarded, Paris Exposition 1878, Parisia, Strike, None Genuine Without This Trade Mark, Ansonia Clock Co. Ansonia Brooklyn NY". The clock was appraised in 2004 and at that time the retail value was $650. Comes with winding key. Measures approximately 23.5"x 13.25"x 4.5". There are a few small scuff marks on the wood, otherwise the clock is in good condition.
