Description
This is a vintage German stoneware beer stein signed “Germany” on the bottom. It features a cobalt blue and cream/gray salt-glazed finish with a raised relief scene depicting multiple figures in a festive setting. The inscription “Hoch dir, Gambrinus, Herr und König!” (“Hail to you, Gambrinus, Lord and King!”) refers to the legendary folk hero associated with beer and brewing. The stein includes a decorative rim and a sturdy handle, typical of traditional German Humpen mugs. It measures 5 inches long and 3.75 inches wide. It is in good condition.
