Description
A framed print of a lushly painted Polynesian girl kneeling by a river, with a pattern of leaf shadows decorating her back. The style is that of outsider art, also known as vernacular art, which is art created by self-taught artists who are often outside the mainstream art world. The raw, uninhibited nature of outsider art can be incredibly compelling and unique. The bold use of color and somewhat flattened perspective are characteristic of artists who are not formally trained in traditional art techniques. Print has a wide gold frame and white matting. It measures 9.5" x 7.5" and is in good condition.
