Description
This footed, bowl-shaped pottery vase is designed for ikebana floral arrangements, specifically the Moribana style, which uses shallow containers. The exterior has a textured, sandy dark-brown finish, while the interior features a smooth, glossy blue-green or teal glaze, reminiscent of the Caribbean Sea. The flat top rim has a distinct rippled texture, and the vase is intended to hold a flower frog (kenzan) for securing stems, promoting a minimalist and deliberate arrangement style. Signed on the bottom. H: 5" | W: 15". Good condition.
