Description
This finely crafted Japanese Imari porcelain plate in the Kinrande style originates from the Arita region and was traditionally exported via the port of Imari. The plate features intricate, densely packed patterns characteristic of this style, with a classic color palette of underglaze cobalt blue, overglaze iron red, touches of green, and prominent gilding. The central medallion showcases a lobed, cloud-like floral design, while the outer border is divided into alternating panels, some featuring floral and foliage patterns on cobalt blue with gold accents, and others displaying geometric and floral designs in red, orange, and green on a white background. Imari porcelain became highly sought after in 19th-century Europe and the United States, particularly during the Meiji period, when both high-quality and export-focused pieces were produced. Good condition.
