Description
Mounted fragment of the Berlin Wall, featuring a concrete piece with visible green, yellow, and red paint on one side. A label affixed to the piece reads: “Removed from the BERLIN WALL, East GERMANY” on “August 27, 1990” by “Michael and V-Anne Chernock.” The fragment is securely displayed in a clear acrylic case set against a dark blue background and supported by a small metal stand. This piece serves as a powerful historical artifact from one of the most significant symbols of the Cold War. The Berlin Wall, constructed by East Germany in 1961, stood for 28 years as a barrier separating East and West Berlin and representing the broader divide between communist and democratic Europe. Its unexpected opening on November 9, 1989—sparked by mass protests and a government error—marked the beginning of the end of the Cold War and paved the way for German reunification in 1990. Condition: Good.
