Description
An antique Chinese grain or rice measure (dou), dating to the 19th century. This bucket is constructed from thick wood panels reinforced with heavy iron or brass braces and features a fixed central handle. Originally a utilitarian unit of dry measure, these objects are now sought after as decorative pieces. The entire item has a deep, time-worn patina. The item's measurements are 10" (H) x 13" (W) and it is in good antique condition, with extensive wear consistent with its age and use.
