Description
Solid oak pressed back dining chair with a spindle back and naturalist leaf scrollwork and cut-out heart shape on seat back. Seat features a tan leather cushion bordered by decorative silver upholstery tacks. Turned spindles complement the base and add stability. Pressed back chairs became popular in the late 19th century due to advancements in woodworking technology, allowing for intricate designs to be mass-produced at a lower cost. The rustic country style shows a trend towards simpler designs that emphasized functionality and craftsmanship. Dimensions are 39" x 20" x 24" and the condition is good, showing normal signs of wear but no significant damages.
