Description
This is a 93-piece silverplate flatware set by Towle in the English Shell pattern, produced under the Towle Supreme Cutlery line between 1988 and 1990. The design features a classic shell motif on each handle, reflecting traditional English influence. The set includes silverplate and stainless steel components and is housed in a wood storage chest. Towle Supreme Cutlery was manufactured in Japan and offered under the prestigious Towle Silversmiths brand. Founded by Anthony Francis Towle in 1873 in Newburyport, Massachusetts, Towle Silversmiths became a leading American name in sterling and silver-plated flatware. The company gained recognition for its craftsmanship and wide array of elegant patterns. Though discontinued, the English Shell pattern remains a collectible example of late 20th-century silverware design. It is in good condition with minor surface wear consistent with use.
