Description
This is a Liljan brass candlestick designed by Ivar Ålenius Björk (1905–1978) and manufactured by Ystad-Metall in Sweden, mid-20th century. The candlestick features a round base with a central stem that splits into two graceful, curved arms, resembling the petals of a lily flower. The Liljan design is considered a Scandinavian classic of the mid-20th century. Ivar Ålenius Björk was a Swedish sculptor and designer recognized for his elegant and classically inspired works. His designs are represented in the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design. It measures 7” wide and is in good condition.
