Description
This is a lithograph print titled Mabel the Stowaway by Charles Wysocki, published by AMCAL Fine Art in 1995. The print may be a sample proof, as the signature and numbering next to the original signature are faint. The artwork depicts a whimsical travel-themed scene featuring a tabby cat named Mabel playfully “stowing away” inside an open suitcase. Visible in the suitcase are brown fur-lined boots, a book, a pair of binoculars, and folded clothing, creating a humorous and detailed composition. Charles Wysocki (1928–2002) was an American painter celebrated for his primitive style, portraying nostalgic scenes of American life, often from the horse-and-buggy era. His artwork was widely reproduced in prints and adapted into calendars, puzzles, collector plates, and other merchandise. It measures 24” x 22” and is in good condition.
