Description
This is a limited edition lithograph titled Maggie the Messmaker by Charles Wysocki, published by AMCAL Fine Art in 1996. It is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist, 684/6500, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The artwork depicts a black and white cat named Maggie, shown sleeping on a desk behind an old-fashioned Singer sewing machine. The setting is a sewing room filled with sewing supplies and craft materials. The desk and surrounding area feature pin cushions, spools of thread, fabric scraps, buttons, thimbles, yarn, and tools, creating the appearance of a cozy but cluttered workspace. Charles Wysocki (1928–2002) was an American painter recognized for his Americana folk art style, often depicting whimsical, nostalgic scenes of everyday life. His work has been widely reproduced and collected in the form of prints, calendars, and puzzles. The piece measures 25” x 22” and is in good condition.
