Description

This is a Curtis Jere brass bird sculpture, made in the 1980s. It features a simplistic bird silhouette in brass with a darker accent at the beak. It is mounted on a black marble dome. It measures 12.5" x 14" x 14.5". It is in good condition. This work is attributed to C. Jeré, the joint name used by Jerry Fels and Curtis Freiler, who were metalworking artists focusing on home accessories and wall sculptures. Their works were produced and marketed by Artisan House, founded by the duo in 1963. Early pieces were produced in California, with later works made overseas after the company’s outsourcing in 2003.
