Description
This vintage vase is a fine example of post-WWII “Royal Maruni” lacquerware, crafted in Japan and notable for its deep oxblood-red finish. The round porcelain body is adorned with intricate hand-painted designs featuring a pagoda-style structure, stylized clouds, trees, and birds, all enhanced with gilt accents. The vase is further detailed with mother-of-pearl inlay, giving the piece an iridescent shimmer and highlighting its decorative motifs. “Royal Maruni of Japan” pieces were produced primarily during the Occupied Japan era. This vase measures approximately 4.25" x 5.5" and is in good condition.
