Description
This is a hand-painted 4-panel Asian-style folding tabletop screen, likely lacquered wood, depicting cranes and bamboo. The panels feature a gold background with a natural scene of cranes standing on a rocky shoreline and in the water, surrounded by bamboo stalks. The panels are bordered with a dark frame decorated with scrollwork and floral motifs at the corners. Cranes and bamboo are common subjects in East Asian decorative art, with cranes often symbolizing longevity and good fortune. The screen measures 42.5" x 36". It is in good condition.
