Description
This is a framed art print of Two Hares in Moonlight by Cho Tai Eok (Korean, 1675–1728). The original work was created in the 18th century. The artwork depicts a branch with white blossoms and a full moon or circular motif in the background. Rabbits are a recurring subject in East Asian art, often linked to the legend of a rabbit and a cassia tree living in the moon. The inscription on the painting refers to this legend. In Korean culture, the rabbit has long been a popular subject in the visual arts and literature. Cho Tai Eok, a high official of the Joseon dynasty court, was recognized for his skill in animal painting and calligraphy. The piece is framed by Kinder Harris. It measures 27.75" x 41.75". It is in good condition.
