Description
This is a signed and numbered lithograph by Terry Redlin titled The Squall Line . It is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist, numbered 130/960. The artwork depicts a small flock of Canadian Geese flying low over rough, wind-swept water beneath a dramatic storm sky. A break in the storm front allows sunlight to stream through the clouds, illuminating the turbulent water. Shoreline trees, some downed by high water and waves, add to the sense of a squall. Terry Redlin (1937–2016) was an American wildlife and landscape artist known for his portrayals of rural American life and nature. After a motorcycle accident at age 15 ended his goal of becoming a forest ranger, he turned to art. Following a career in commercial illustration, he began painting full-time in 1979. During the 1990s, U.S. Art magazine named him America’s most popular artist for eight consecutive years. His work is exhibited at the Redlin Art Center in Watertown, South Dakota. The piece was created in 1980 and measures 35.25" x 27.25". It is in good condition.
