This is a 1995 limited edition lithograph titled Drifters by Rod Frederick, published by The Greenwich Workshop, Inc. It is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist, 147/850. The artwork depicts an American bison in a detailed, textured style primarily in black and white, emphasizing its thick fur. Brightly colored tiger swallowtail butterflies, yellow sunflowers, and a blue mountain bluebird contrast against the monochromatic rendering of the bison, highlighting the balance of fragility and strength in wildlife. Rod Frederick (b. 1951, Salem, Oregon) is an American wildlife artist known for his realistic and dynamic portrayals of animals in natural settings. He studied art and biology at Willamette University and has exhibited at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum’s annual show more than ten times.
