Description
This is a lithograph titled La Lettre by Louis Icart. The artwork depicts a woman in an oval vignette, elegantly dressed in a layered gown with a voluminous dark skirt and lighter bodice. She is holding a letter, with her posture and expression suggesting contemplation. Her hair is styled in an upswept fashion typical of the early 20th century. Decorative background elements, including foliage or abstract patterns, enhance the Art Deco aesthetic. Louis Justin Laurent Icart (1888–1950) was a French painter, graphic artist, and illustrator. His style drew influence from 18th-century French masters such as Watteau, Boucher, and Fragonard, as well as from artists including Degas and Monet. He became widely known for his portrayals of women, often infused with elegance, humor, and symbolic detail. It is framed, measures 22” x 28”, and is in good condition.
