Description
This is a framed lithograph in colors titled Paysage by Roger Mühl (1929–2008). The artwork depicts a landscape scene in Provence, with blues, greens, and yellows conveying the atmosphere of the region. Trees, foliage, a building in the mid-ground, and rolling hills in the background are rendered with simplified forms and chromatic harmony, characteristic of Mühl’s style. Roger Mühl was born in Geudertheim, Bas-Rhin, and studied at the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts. He became known as a painter of color, producing portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. In 1960, he began creating lithographs at Fernand Mourlot’s studio in Paris, a workshop frequented by Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall. His work has been exhibited internationally, including in Paris, New York, and Tokyo, and remains associated with the École de Paris. It measures 30” x 27” and is in good condition.
