Description
This is a signed artist’s proof (épreuve d’artiste, EA) lithograph titled Europhalia by Johnny Friedlaender. The artwork features an abstract composition with a central arrangement of shapes and lines, with circular elements and radiating lines suggesting movement. It is an EA (artist’s proof), a test print created by the artist to check the plate before the main edition run. Johnny Friedlaender (1912–1992) was a German-French artist known for his pioneering work in aquatint etching. His works have been exhibited internationally, and he influenced many artists who studied in his Paris gallery. It measures 30” x 38” and is in good condition.
