Description
This is a 12-piece antique silverplate fish cutlery set by Mark Willis & Son, active in Sheffield, England from 1886 to 1918. Each piece features intricately engraved floral patterns on the blades and tines, with elegantly shaped scimitar-style knife blades and matching fork designs. The ornately cast ferrules connect to ivory-colored handles that exhibit a smooth, subtly grained texture. Mark Willis & Son, originally established in the 19th century and converted into a limited liability company in 1904, was known for producing quality electroplated silver goods from their workshop at 207 Rockingham Street. The company ceased operations in 1918. This set is a fine example of their detailed and durable tableware. The pieces are hallmarked with the maker’s stamp, and the craftsmanship reflects the refined decorative standards of late 19th to early 20th-century English flatware. The set measures between 7” and 8.25” in length and is in good condition with minor surface wear consistent with age.
