Description
This is a 7-piece ceramic dinnerware set by Bordallo Pinheiro, made in Portugal. It includes six plates measuring 10.5” L x 1.75” H and one bowl measuring 11.25” L x 5” H. Each piece features a detailed cabbage leaf design with a richly glazed finish. The cabbage motif, a symbol of rural Portuguese life, is part of a kitchenware range originally designed by Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro. A renowned 19th-century caricaturist and artist, he founded the ceramic factory in 1884 with the vision of combining functionality and artistic expression in everyday tableware. The factory remains active today, continuing his legacy of unique and culturally significant ceramic design. The set is in good condition with minimal wear.
