Description
This is a 70-piece authentic Franciscan Apple dinnerware set made in England, indicating post-1984 production. Each piece is crafted from hand-painted and embossed earthenware, featuring raised-relief red apples and green leaves on a sand-colored background. The set includes a variety of functional designs such as dishes, mugs, and serving pieces. All items are marked “Franciscan Apple” and are in good condition with light wear consistent with age and use. The Franciscan Apple pattern was first introduced in 1940 and became one of the most popular patterns in the Franciscan dinnerware line. It was adapted from the earlier “Zona” pattern by Weller Pottery Company. Originally produced in the United States, manufacturing shifted to England after 1984. Franciscan dinnerware is recognized for its role in American ceramic history and craftsmanship.
