Description
This is a blown and hot sculpted glass California Quail sculpture by Nicholson Glass Studio, signed on the bottom and dated 2013. It features detailed powder designs and incorporates hand-forged steel legs and a base, all created in their Auburn, California studio. The piece is part of a series inspired by the California Quail that inhabit the artists' nine-acre property. The work reflects Rick Nicholson’s advanced hot sculpting technique, developed with influence from artists including Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen and Pino Signoretto, and complements Janet Nicholson’s intricate design work. The sculpture measures 9” L x 5” W x 10” H and is in good condition.
