Description
This is a pair of hand-decorated ceramic pitchers from La Badia Hotel and Restaurant in Orvieto, Italy. They feature Umbrian-style artwork with text and figures. They are signed "S.C.O. Orvieto" on the base. They originate from La Badia di Orvieto, a site with historical significance. Originally founded as a 6th-century abbey, it was rebuilt in the 12th century as a Benedictine monastery and later served as a residence for Popes and Cardinals. The structure, now functioning as a hotel and restaurant, is notable for its 12-sided bell tower and historical architecture. Each measures 6.75” L x 5” W x 6.5” H. They are in good condition with minor wear.
