Description

This five-piece Hina Ningyo doll set by Kyugetsu dates to the 1950s–1970s and is traditionally used for Hinamatsuri (Girl’s Day) celebrations in Japan. The set includes the Emperor (obina), Empress (mebina), and three court ladies (sannin kanjo), each dressed in detailed brocade kimonos. The dolls are accompanied by miniature imperial accessories such as a celestial crown (tenkan), folding fan (ōgi), court shoes (kutsu), ceremonial sword (tachi), offering stands (sanpō), long-handled sake pots (nagaye chōshi), and sake cups (sakazuki). The set also includes two original instructional pamphlets (shiori) in Japanese, which provide labeled illustrations and guidance for the correct arrangement of dolls and accessories on a tiered display stand (hinadan). According to the pamphlets, fans and swords are meant to be placed in the dolls’ hands, while shoes and trays are arranged in front of their respective figures. Doll heights range from 4.5” to 6.5”. Good condition with age-appropriate wear.
