Description
This is a 72-piece sterling silver flatware service in the Continental pattern by International Silver, introduced in 1934. It includes knives, forks, spoons, and specialty serving pieces. Each piece is marked “International Sterling” on the reverse except for the large knives, which are marked "International Stainless" on the blades. The pattern is known for its clean, mid-century modern style and was produced from 1934 to 1996. The set features no monograms. It is in good condition with moderate surface wear consistent with use. International Silver Co. is a prominent American silver manufacturer with a history that includes acquisitions of companies such as 1847 Rogers Bros, Gorham, Holmes & Edwards, Kirk Stieff, Reed & Barton, Towle, and Wallace.
