Description
This is a vintage ceramic beer stein from Berchtesgaden, West Germany. It features a hand-painted relief panorama of the Berchtesgaden region in the Bavarian Alps. The front displays a detailed cityscape with the Watzmann mountain in the background, while the side panels depict Lake Königssee and the Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle’s Nest). Edelweiss flowers frame the scenes, and the stein is topped with a turned pewter lid with intricate relief banding. It measures 4 inches long, 2.75 inches wide, and 5.5 inches high. It is in good condition.
