Description

This is a Lafayette F-760 reflecting microscope from the 1950s. Reflecting microscopes are designed to examine opaque specimens using reflected light rather than transmitted light. This makes them suitable for viewing materials such as metals, minerals, ceramics, and semiconductors. The design of reflecting microscopes reduces optical aberrations and improves image resolution, a concept dating back to early developments by Giovanni Battista Amici and John Cuthbert. This item measures 3 inches in length, 4.5 inches in width, and 6.5 inches in height. It is in good condition and features magnification settings of 50X and 100X.
