Description
This is a large hand-painted stoneware dinnerware set by M.A. Hadley Pottery, in good condition with minor wear consistent with use. M.A. Hadley Pottery was founded in 1940 by Mary Alice Hadley (1911–1965) in Louisville, Kentucky. Born into a family of clay tile makers, she developed an early interest in art and design. Her initial hand-painted dishware for a personal houseboat on the Ohio River led to the establishment of the pottery. The company is known for its hand-painted stoneware featuring farm animals, marine themes, and other decorative motifs. The set includes various plates, bowls, mugs, serving pieces, and more. Each piece features signature farm animal motifs and is signed on the bottom.
