Description
This is a handmade porcelain set from Jingdezhen in good condition with minor wear consistent with age. The set includes a teapot, a bowl, a lidded dish and a plate. It is hand-painted with the traditional longevity pattern, featuring floral motifs and four equally spaced circles containing the Chinese characters 萬 (Wàn), 壽 (Shòu), 無 (Wú), 疆 (Jiāng). These characters together form the phrase 萬壽無疆, meaning "Boundless Longevity." This pattern originated during the Kangxi Period of the Qing Dynasty (1661–1722) and is a hallmark of the famille rose style.
