Description
This is a limited edition screen print titled Swing VI (1999) by French artist Victor Spahn, hand-signed and numbered in pencil No. 168/350. Known as the "painter of movement," Spahn captures dynamic energy and motion in his work, which is especially evident in this piece. Born in 1949 in France to Russian heritage, Victor Spahn began his artistic journey in mosaic design before transitioning to painting, influenced by a formative meeting with painter André Lanskoy. He held his first solo exhibition at the Liszt Gallery in Paris in 1975, and quickly rose to prominence for his vibrant, kinetic scenes, especially within the realm of sports. Spahn gained international recognition through posters and commissions for events such as the Open Golf Peugeot, World Polo Championship, Formula 1 Grand Prix, and the French Rugby Stadium. His distinctive style—marked by bold strokes and layered motion—earned him acclaim throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The print is framed in black, measuring 32.5" x 44.75", and is in good condition, with only minimal wear to the frame from previous display.
