Description
Crafted in 925 sterling silver, the center of this cross-shaped pendant features an Ancient Roman glass fragment from Israel that was discovered in an archeological excavation. Due to its large stretches of sandy dunes and beaches, Israel was one of the largest glass producers of the Roman Empire. The excavated glass fragments have been embedded in the soil for hundreds of years, allowing for the patina formations of iridescent, pearly scales on the surface of the glass to evolve gradually over centuries. Stamped '925 Israel'. Good condition.
