Description
This is a gilt metal music box by German metalworking company Erhard & Söhne, founded in 1844. Decorated with intricate cherub motifs on the exterior, with a pastoral scene reminiscent of Watteau's 'The Scale of Love' on the interior lid. Plays 'Du, Du, liegst mir im Herzen.' Measures 5"L and is in good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
