Description
This is a colored etching by Austrian artist Herta Czoernig‑Gobanz (1886–1970) titled “Die Forelle,” from her Musicians Home Series. It depicts Franz Schubert’s home and includes the opening bar of his “Trout Quintet” as musical notation. It was produced after Czoernig‑Gobanz studied etching under Professor Ludwig Michalek in Vienna and Weimar. It reflects her topographical style, capturing historic Viennese sites and composer homes. It is made in the mid‑20th century. It is signed in pencil lower right “H. Czoernig.” It measures approximately 13.25" L × 16.25" H and is in brand new condition.
