Description
This is a vintage framed panoramic photograph of a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp from the 1930s, a program established during the Great Depression as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal. The text at the bottom of the image includes “C.C.C. Co. 697” and “Coon Valley S.C.S. (Wis),” indicating a CCC camp in Coon Valley, Wisconsin, focused on soil conservation efforts. The photograph features men in CCC uniforms, with some individuals in the front row dressed in military-style attire, likely officers or supervisors. The CCC operated with a structured, camp-based system and carried out projects such as reforestation, erosion control, and infrastructure improvements. This item measures approximately 33" in length and is in good condition.
