Description
Authentic Kula Mola Hand-Stitched Folk Art in Frame. A Mola is a hand-made textile that forms part of the traditional women's clothing of the indigenous Guna people from Panama and Colombia. Molas are hand-made using a reverse appliqué technique. Several layers (usually two to seven) of different-colored cloth (usually cotton) are sewn together; the design is then formed by cutting away parts of each layer. This particular Mola features a depiction of some animal, possibly a dog or a coyote set in a gray-colored picture frame. The frame measures approximately 11.75" x 10.5", and is in good condition.
