Description
Vintage Monroe L160-X Mechanical Calculator with Carrying Case. The Monroe L160-X was a compact mechanical calculator used to make complex calculations with Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division. By utilizing the mechanical keyboard and hand crank, a user can make the necessary calculations depending on how many times and what direction they turn the crank. Designed by Frank Baldwin, the first Monroe machine was marketed in 1911 and gradually evolved over the years, including electrically driven models. Monroe is still in business today, making both electronic printing calculators and handheld calculators. This item is in good working order, and comes with its original carrying case that measures approximately 12.75" x 10.25" x 4".
