Description
This vintage Pendleton Mills Beaver State blanket features the "Chief Joseph" pattern, a traditional Native American design. The blanket is reversible and retains its original tan felt binding and blue Pendleton label. The "Beaver State" name dates back to 1912 when Pendleton Woolen Mills sold blankets to Native American tribes near the Columbia River plateau, including the Nez Perce, Walla Walla, Cayuse, and Umatilla tribes. Pendleton's blankets became essential for trade, credit, and ceremonial use. This item measures approximately 80" L x 64" H and is in good condition.
