Description
This is a Kaman Applause Model AE-36 electric/acoustic guitar, Serial No. 278220. Also known as Ovation Guitars, Kaman Ovation was founded by Charlie Kaman in the 1960s, an aeronautical engineer who started his own aircraft company that specialized in making helicopters. Charlie Kaman started Ovation as a side project using spare materials from the helicopter factory with the goal of creating technologically superior musical instruments. Ovation guitars are known for their unique rounded back design. This guitar features features a round back and a flat top. It is a 6-string right-handed guitar with volume and tone knobs located on the side. The guitar comes with a molded hard-shell case lined with brown-bronze velvet. The scale length is 25 inches, and the nut width is 1-3/4 inches. The guitar measures approximately 15.75" x 40" x 5". The guitar is in fair condition due to some cracks and splits on the wood finish of the front of the guitar, as well as several broken strings. The guitar case is also in fair condition due to some misalignment of the latches and various wear and tear.
