Description
This is a framed painting, oil on canvas, of "Girl With A Pearl Earring", originally an oil painting by Dutch Golden Age painter Johannes Vermeer. The painting is stamped by The Carlyle Collection and measures approximately 17.5" L x 22" W. It is in good condition. Information about the Carlyle Collection: The Carlyle Collection Company was started by Philip Restaino, a former Bristol-Meyers executive who wanted to make new renditions of early masterpieces. In a 1998 interview, Restaino says, "Each one is absolutely individually hand-painted by one of our talented artists. In fact, because of that no two are ever identical. This is not a manufacturing process. Computers aren't used to generate the art."
